Hello There Stranger…

… who knew talking to strangers could be so fun. Well it depends on the stranger of course and there are some that you really should NOT talk to (per your parents advice from when you were 3).  But, I have just had the most delightful go-round with a complete stranger today, and yes I use that term delightful loosely!

My friend was kind enough to send me some afternoon entertainment today. 1) was the trailer for Where the Wild Thing Are, click to see 2) This footage of a girl fainting (seriously funny), click to see and 3) This site: http://omegle.com where you can talk to complete strangers.

Oh my goodness it is interesting. One conversation covered everything from after-life, to abortion, to music. Yes, sometimes it is completely boring, like the time the “Stranger” asked my name and I told them George and then they just disconnected me. But, that alone was sort of entertaining, I mean WHAT is so bad about GEORGE!? It was a practice in rejection that is for sure. For every conversation I had I was disconnected two times and I disconnected at least 3 “Strangers”.

But it all paid off when my last chat turned up a “Stranger” with the most interesting habit of shoving fruit up his bum. AND then when he asked me if I had any hobbies, I simply replied “oh I ski”. He was looking for something a bit more “extravagant” and when I told him I didn’t have any nearly as interesting as being a fruitiphile, he called me “elegantly boring”. Which I have to say just made me warm and fuzzy all over.

Stranger, you can call me elegant any day… even if it is a poorly veiled insult.

  2. [...] I first heard about Omegle and sent the link to my friends, we were in hysterics about some of the conversations.  Strangers would open with completely bizarre comments, sometimes a little scary, sometimes [...]
