Ramblings of an off kilter redhead...

Today on my way to the 1.5 mile marker…

Gizmo, waiting for his walk

…on the Burlington Bike Path, I realized people are a lot friendlier at 7AM. These are the real go-getter’s. They are dedicated to their cause, be it health, training for the next marathon or just walking the dog. They are up, they are Adam and they are smilin’.

I finally figured out that I could wake up at 7AM, go for a 3 mile run and STILL be at work before 9AM. So turning over a new leave today I decided to roll, slide, slip… slip out of bed at 7AM for a morning run. The benefit of this groggy eyed jaunt, is that now, at 2:05PM, I don’t have to start the guilt ridden inner dialogue with myself about: if I will run when I get home, if I do run how far, should I just walk, can I make it to the gym and home before going home to walk Gizmo and so on. More often than not this usually ends in none of the above.

So now here I sit guilt free. I can go home and read a book if that’s what I feel like or hit the lake to catch some rays, that is if the sun decides to come out. Now I get it, now I know why people who are hitting the Burlington Bike Path at 7AM are SO much more friendly.
